How to Make Whipped Coffee (Dalgona Coffee) at Home

By now you've heard of dalgona coffee, the latest food craze that's taking over social media. The simplicity of this recipe made this trendy drink difficult to ignore. Soon enough, I was driving down the road to the nearest grocery store to see what all the fuss was about. As a Keurig owner, I use k-cups, so instant coffee was the only ingredient on my shopping list.

Recipe Directions

You only need three ingredients to make the internet's favorite quarantine drink - instant coffee, sugar, and water. Pour two tablespoons of sugar, two tablespoons of instant coffee, and two tablespoons of hot water in a bowl and whisk them together until you get a whipped consistency. I prefer using a hand mixer to achieve the right texture quickly. If you need a light arm workout, a whisk is the way to go!

Pour yourself a glass of milk or milk substitute with ice and top it off with your whipped coffee. Now you have a glass of dalgona coffee!

I want to quickly mention that if you're making this recipe as I outlined above, you have to use instant coffee. Ground coffee and brewed coffee won't work.

Here's my cup of dalgona coffee over vanilla almond milk! Once it dissolved, I had a sweet drink to enjoy while getting my day started!

Directions Without Instant Coffee

If you do not have instant coffee, I highly recommend this YouTube video. This is how I made dalgona coffee the first time and was pleased with the results.  Let me know in the comment section below if you've tried this trendy recipe and how it turned out!
