Quarantine and Chill: At-Home Activities to Maintain Social Distancing

With an additional thirty days in quarantine, we're all in need of some at-home activities to stay busy. I've been handling the quarantine pretty well, but I can't wait until all of this passes and we're back to our normal lives. Until then, let's try to make the most of this time ❤️

1. Read, Read, Read!

I have a really bad habit of picking up a book and only reading it halfway to start another. Now, I have no excuse to get back into a few books. I'll be reading, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. What are your book recommendations?

2. Join an Online Bible Study Group

Last year was quite the year for me. I left the new age, began recovering from codependency, and started my walk in the Christian faith. With churches adjusting to this new lifestyle, many people are looking for alternative ways to fellowship. Online bible study groups are a great way to grow in God's word while meeting new people.

Join The Joyful Life Community page to be apart of their online bible study group.
Here's a link to a digital copy of their latest study guide.

3. Try a New Recipe

Whenever I'm bored and have a few ripe bananas on hand, I whip up some banana bread. This is my favorite recipe to follow. You probably have most of the ingredients in your pantry, which is perfect to maintain social distancing. This makes for a nice breakfast or snack during the day. I recently found this 3 ingredient whipped coffee recipe and can't wait to test it out!

I love using the Yummly app to find simple recipes with ingredients I already have at home.

Speaking of coffee, here's a free Instagram story template to decorate your own coffee cup!

I wanted to throw in one more activity for you to enjoy. Challenge your long-distance friends and family to a game of tic-tac-toe!

4. Binge Netflix

Ok, so this isn't the most productive activity, but you can learn a lot from documentaries and shows available on Netflix. Watch a comedy special if you're in need of a good belly laugh. I know I'll be watching some light-hearted movies to keep my energy up.

Take it a step further and make it into a movie night! Pop some popcorn, grab your favorite candy, throw in some fluffy blankets, and you're all set! Have your friends tune into the same movie and set up a zoom call to watch together. We can be together while maintaining social distancing.

Drop your favorite show or movie recommendations in the comment section!

5. Declutter your Closet

Spring cleaning season is here and if you haven't already tackled the closet, now is the time! I have outdated clothes taking up space, so this is definitely on my to-do list. Well, it's past-due. Every couple of months I have to buy more hangers to keep up with old and new purchases.

It's also a great time to switch out the winter wardrobe for spring and summer attire. Hopefully, the virus passes by the time summer gets here, and I won't be complaining about the heat for a long time.
