Don't Leave Home Without These Items: Handbag Essentials

With stay-at-home orders lifting across the states, many of us are eagerly rushing out the door, and I certainly am one of them. More often than not, once I've arrived at my destination and rummaged through my purse, I notice an item or two that I usually keep handy missing. So before you venture out to reunite safely with friends and family, take a second to make sure you have the following items in your handbag.

Let's start with the obvious, hand sanitizer. I've had my eye on this hand sanitizer by Touchland for quite some time, but a bottle from the drugstore works as well. While shopping, I stopped to grab sunscreen and looked for a lip balm with SPF. I've neglected wearing sunscreen daily, but with age comes wisdom, and skincare has become more of a priority. I recommend this one by Aquaphor.

After a long day, the last thing I want to deal with is my hair. If I'm being honest, it's usually in a ponytail, but I like to keep a hair tie and bobby pins in my purse for the occasions when it's down. During the weekend, I go for my morning walk at a nearby park and too often, I've forgotten my headphones. Wireless headphones are convenient but so easy to forget and misplace. If you like listening to a podcast or music when working out, double-check your bag before heading out.

Last, but certainly not least are bandaids and gum. I hardly remember to buy bandaids until I need them. Now, I'm trying to make it a habit to have them in my bag at all times. Gum isn't essential to some, but I like to keep it to curb my appetite if I'm embarking on a long day of errands. I hope this list helps you stay prepared while enjoying the summer!
